Headline: Job Openings and Registered Unemployment Decreased in December
In December 2024, the number of open jobs reported by İŞKUR decreased by 24.44% compared to the same month in 2023, reaching 158,410. The number of open jobs in the same month of the previous year was 209,645.
According to İŞKUR's December "Statistical Report," a total of 2,566,031 open jobs were recorded for the entire year of 2024, marking a decline of 4.15%. Last year, 99.1% of the open jobs were sourced from the private sector. The manufacturing industry had the highest number of open positions, with 1,014,292 open jobs. The most common job titles for open positions were "Unarmed Security Officer," "Tourism and Hospitality Staff," and "Service Staff (Waiter)."

Registered Unemployment - The number of registered unemployed persons at İŞKUR in December saw a decrease of 7.46% compared to the same month last year, totaling 2,239,882 individuals. In the same month the previous year, the registered unemployed count was 2,420,451. Among the registered unemployed, 49.2% were male, 50.8% female, and 19% were in the 15-24 age group.

Job Placement - In December, a total of 152,526 placements were achieved through İŞKUR, with 94,299 (61.8%) being male and 58,227 (38.2%) female, representing an annual increase of 9.82%. Throughout 2024, there was a 17.58% rise in job placements, reaching a total of 1,453,833 positions filled.
In 2024, the industrial sector had the most placements, particularly in the "Manufacturing" field; by profession, the highest placements were in "Unarmed Security Officer," "Tourism and Hospitality Staff," and "Shelf Clerk" roles. Last year, İŞKUR facilitated job placements for 555,921 women, 528,403 youth, 45,007 individuals with disabilities, and 278,983 higher education graduates.
