Ford's Mustang GTD Breaks Records with Sub-7 Minute Nürburgring Lap Time

The Ford Mustang GTD has achieved a significant automotive milestone by completing the Nürburgring in under seven minutes. This accomplishment marks the first time an American brand has reached this time on the German track. According to Ford CEO Jim Farley, the Mustang GTD recorded a time of 6 minutes and 57.685 seconds.

Farley expressed great pride in this achievement, stating, "This is the gold standard for sports car development." He also hinted that the team would attempt to surpass this time in the future, with aspirations for even faster laps.

Inspired by the Mustang GT3 race car, the Mustang GTD is designed to deliver exceptional performance. With 815 horsepower, the vehicle can reach a maximum speed of 202 MPH on the track. The design of the Mustang GTD aims not only to demonstrate outstanding performance against Europe’s best sports cars on the racetrack but also to bring this immense power to American roads.
