Turkey's National Airline Sees 8.3% Increase in Passenger Numbers, Reaching 6.5 Million in November
Forex - Turkish Airlines (IS:THYAO)'s (THY) total passenger count during November 2023 was 6 million, which increased by 8.3% to 6.5 million in the same period of 2024. According to the disclosure made by THY to KAP, the number of transfer passengers increased from 2.2 million in November 2023 to 2.3 million in the same period of 2024, a growth of 4.3%. The passenger load factor in November 2024 rose by 1.5 points compared to the same period in 2023, reaching 81.9%. During the same period, the international load factor was 81.7%, while the domestic load factor was 83.5%. Total Available Seat Kilometers (ASK) stood at 18.2 billion in November 2023, which increased by 10.7% to 20.2 billion in November 2024. Cargo-Mail carried was recorded at 154.1 thousand tons in November 2023, rising by 7.9% to 166.2 thousand tons in the same period of 2024.
-January–November Period- During the January–November 2023 period, THY's total passenger count was 77.3 million, which increased by 1.9% to 78.7 million in the same period of 2024. The number of transfer passengers increased from 27.2 million during January–November 2023 to 28.8 million in the same period of 2024, a growth of 5.9%. The passenger load factor from January to November 2024 decreased by 0.5 points compared to the same period in 2023, settling at 82.3%. The international passenger load factor was 81.9%, while the domestic passenger load factor was 86.5%. Total Available Seat Kilometers (ASK) rose from 215.1 billion during January–November 2023 to 232.8 billion in the same period of 2024, an increase of 8.2%. The volume of Cargo-Mail transported rose from 1.5 million tons in January–November 2023 to 1.8 million tons in the same period of 2024, marking a growth of 22.1%. At the end of November 2024, the number of aircraft in the fleet was determined to be 489. Traffic results are consolidated and include data from the main Turkish Airlines brand and AJet.
