Heavy Commercial Vehicle Market Shrinks by 11% in November
In November 2024, the heavy commercial vehicle market decreased by 11% compared to the same month last year, totaling 3,513 units. According to the Heavy Commercial Vehicles Association (TAİD) report, tractor sales in November fell by 25% year-on-year to 1,558 units, sales of trucks weighing 16 tons and above decreased by 17% to 1,143 units, while sales of trucks weighing below 16 tons increased by 67% to 812 units.
The heavy commercial vehicle market (trucks/tractors of 16 tons and above) saw a 24% increase compared to the average sales of the last 10 years for November. Tractor sales rose by 24% compared to the 10-year average for November, and truck sales also exhibited a 24% increase.
In the total semi-trailer vehicle market, November sales rose by 25% compared to the same month last year, reaching 1,004 units.
-January-November Period-
During the January-November 2024 period, the heavy commercial vehicle market decreased by 11% compared to the same period last year. The total number of vehicles sold during this period was 34,734. Tractor sales during the January-November 2024 period were down 27% year-on-year, totaling 16,153 units, while sales of trucks weighing 16 tons and above increased by 11% to 13,023 units. Sales of trucks weighing below 16 tons rose by 8% to 5,558 units.
The semi-trailer vehicle market for the January-November 2024 period decreased by 46% compared to the same period last year, with total sales reaching 7,343 units.
