Fitch: Countries like Brazil, India, Thailand, Malaysia, South Africa, and Turkey impose higher tariffs on U.S. exports.
Foreks - Fitch Ratings expects that the ongoing mutual tariff review by the U.S. administration will result in significantly higher tariff rates in April.
Fitch stated, "The focus on reciprocity poses a high tariff risk for many of the U.S.'s trading partners, particularly emerging market economies where U.S. exporters face higher tariff rates compared to those imposed on imports from these countries." Furthermore, Fitch highlighted that Brazil, India, Thailand, Malaysia, South Africa, Turkey, and on a simple average tariff basis, Vietnam and Indonesia, are applying significantly higher tariffs on U.S. exports compared to the tariffs the U.S. imposes on imports from these countries.
