BlackRock has launched the first Bitcoin ETP in Europe.
BlackRock (BLK), the world's largest asset manager, has launched its first Bitcoin exchange-traded product (ETP) in Europe. Named the "iShares Bitcoin ETP," this product is based in Switzerland and has started trading on the Paris, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt exchanges. In response to the growing demand for cryptocurrency investments in Europe, BlackRock is managing the product in collaboration with Coinbase's custody services and Bank of New York Mellon.
Having previously attracted over $50 billion in investments through similar Bitcoin-linked products in the U.S., BlackRock aims to enhance investor interest and strengthen its position in the global cryptocurrency market with this new offering. The iShares Bitcoin ETP stands out as the company's first cryptocurrency product targeting the European market, following its successful U.S. Bitcoin products.
