Aksa Energy obtained Turkey's first licensed renewable energy storage power plant.
Aksa Energy (IS:AKSEN) has become the first company in Turkey to complete the pre-licensing process for renewable energy plants with storage and obtain a production license. Having finalized the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and permitting processes for its 100.08 MW Mersin Wind Farm, Aksa Energy is taking a significant step toward launching the first cutting-edge storage facility that will play a crucial role in Turkey’s energy architecture. Once the other renewable storage licenses in its portfolio are completed, the company will increase its total installed capacity to 891.41 MW.
As Turkey's largest publicly traded independent electricity producer, Aksa Energy has secured the production license for its renewable energy storage facility by completing all permitting processes for the Mersin Wind Farm. This license, issued by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), highlights Aksa Energy's pioneering role in renewable energy investments and its strong commitment to sustainable energy production. The company, with its experienced team, is set to develop advanced renewable energy projects nationwide, aiming for a total capacity of 891.41 MW.
