Rail traffic volume in the USA increased by 5.4%.

Foreks - The total volume of rail transport in the U.S. saw a 5.4% increase in the week ending March 8 compared to the same week last year. According to data released by the Association of American Railroads (AAR), the total freight transported by rail reached 497,412 cars.

The intermodal freight transport rose by 7.7% to 277,955 cars, while carload freight also increased by 2.6%, totaling 219,457 cars. During the same week, the amount of coal transported by rail in the U.S. increased by 5.1%, reaching 57,977 cars.
