Gazprom: Gas Flow to China via Pipeline Sets New Record

According to Gazprom data, Russia's daily natural gas flow to China via the Power of Siberia connection set a new record on December 20. While Gazprom did not specify an exact figure for daily gas supply to China, it stated in a Telegram announcement that the flows exceeded its obligations under a contract with China National Petroleum Corp. The latest flows surpassed the previous peak level reached on December 7. Earlier this month, Russia had also raised gas shipments to the design capacity of the Power of Siberia, equivalent to 38 billion cubic meters per day, ahead of schedule.

Based on China's customs data and price forecasts from the Russian Ministry of Economy, Bloomberg calculations indicate that Russia supplied approximately 29 billion cubic meters of pipeline gas to China between January and November, representing a 40% increase compared to the same period last year. According to Bloomberg's calculations based on flows through Ukraine and the TurkStream pipeline, Gazprom's deliveries to European customers during the same period reached approximately 28 billion cubic meters, reflecting an almost 14% increase compared to the previous year.
