Nokia and Turkcell Successfully Implement Quantum-Safe IPsec Network Cryptography for Mobile Subscribers, a World First

Forex - Nokia (HE:NOKIA) and Turkcell (IS:TCELL) have successfully implemented quantum-safe IPsec network cryptography for mobile subscribers for the first time in the world.

In a statement from Nokia, it was noted, "This groundbreaking achievement marks a critical step in securing mobile networks against future threats posed by quantum computing. Nokia and Turkcell are proactively addressing the evolving landscape of network security by leveraging the latest cryptographic standards and ensuring the resilience of mobile communications in the future."

The statement continued: "The introduction of quantum computing threatens traditional cryptography methods, rendering them vulnerable to powerful quantum attacks that could break conventional cryptographic protections. As quantum computers continue to evolve, it is vital for networks to adapt to meet these risks. The successful integration of quantum-safe IPsec cryptography into Turkcell's mobile transport network marks a new benchmark for network security and was demonstrated using Nokia's globally deployed IPsec Security Gateway to secure critical data against evolving quantum threats."

By implementing advanced cryptographic techniques, both Nokia and Turkcell are ensuring that their networks are secure today while also preparing for future developments in technology. For end users, this means continued confidence in the security of their mobile communications, knowing that their data will be protected not only now but also as the technological landscape evolves over time.

Turkcell's Chief Network Technologies Officer Prof. Dr. Vehbi Çağrı Güngör stated, "This test represents a significant milestone in the evolution of our network security. As part of our strategy to continuously enhance the security of our mobile network, this collaboration with Nokia reassures us that our transport security can withstand the challenges of the quantum era. By showcasing these quantum-safe cryptography capabilities today, we are preparing our network for the future."

Nokia's Senior Vice President of European Network Infrastructure Rafael De Fermin said, "Through our collaboration with Turkcell, we demonstrated how our quantum-safe IPsec technology can protect mobile networks against evolving security threats. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding the privacy and integrity of mobile technology. Our solutions provide a proactive, deep defense, crypto-resistant approach to future network security challenges, ensuring Turkcell's network remains secure in the coming years."
