Çimsa/Zenar: Building Digital Networks Among Our Facilities, Customers, and Distributors
Foreks - The supply chain event organized for the first time this year by Çimsa, a company of the Sabancı Group, took place on December 13 in Istanbul. Under the title "Supply and Sustain," the event saw significant participation from industry stakeholders, discussing the sustainability roadmaps of the construction materials sector and emphasizing the importance of collective efforts on the path toward future net-zero targets. The meeting aimed at sharing thoughts on innovation, technology, and sustainability-focused work in designing the future supply chain is intended to continue in the coming years.
“As Çimsa, we are reaching our impact power to every link of our supply chain.”
In remarks regarding the topic, Çimsa CEO Umut Zenar emphasized that net-zero targets are a primary priority on the agendas of companies today, stating, “Regardless of the sectors we operate in, if we want to create a lasting and real impact in sustainability, the only way is through collaboration. In today's world, no institution from the public, private sector, or academia has sufficient power on its own. What is important is to unite with all our stakeholders around a common vision; to strive to extend our impact power to everywhere it can reach. This approach is at the very center of the sustainability roadmap we outline as Çimsa. We are not only focused on transforming ourselves, our operations, and our business culture around sustainability but also strive to ensure that this understanding finds a place in every link of our supply chain. This event is an important showcase of this vision. We hope to create strong awareness in our country by continuing to implement such events in the upcoming period,” he expressed.
“We are connecting our facilities, customers, and dealers with digital networks.”
Umut Zenar also highlighted that Çimsa’s global company vision is not limited to production facilities or customer diversification. “Especially with our digital-focused initiatives, we are establishing digital networks among our facilities, customers, and dealers. This allows us to not only gain significant advantages in terms of efficiency but also to elevate the supply experience in international trade, where the sector faces serious challenges, to a much higher level. Today, we integrate our global company vision into our supply chain by ensuring the accurate shipment of our products across 80 sub-categories with our 2,200 suppliers operating in 29 countries. We design our supply chain management with a sustainability focus that encompasses not only environmental aspects but also the social and governance elements of ESG. We are also extremely pleased that this approach is being embraced by our suppliers,” he stated.
