Yield Difference Between UK and German Government Bonds Reaches 34-Year High
Forex - The difference between the yields of 10-year government bonds in the UK and Germany has risen to its highest level in 34 years, marking a divergence in the trajectories of the Bank of England and the European Central Bank. The spread between British and German bond yields has increased to 230.3 basis points, reaching the highest level since Germany's reunification in the late 1990s. The yield on the UK’s 10-year bonds has increased by nearly a percentage point this year, rising to 4.564% as investors adjusted their expectations about how much the BoE will cut interest rates in the coming months.
