RENEWAL - Hitit Becomes Drukair's New IT Provider
Hitit, a rapidly expanding company in Asia, has signed an agreement with Drukair, the national airline of the Kingdom of Bhutan. Known as Royal Bhutan Airlines, Drukair has been serving a broad flight network from South Asia to the world for over 40 years. Drukair has decided to operate all its activities with Hitit's technology by 2025.
As one of the leading aviation and travel technology companies globally, Hitit continues its expansion in South Asia with another national airline. The national airline of the Kingdom of Bhutan, known as Drukair, has signed an agreement with Hitit. Drukair's CEO, Tandi Wangchuk, alongside General Managers Ugen Tashi and Wangchuk Tshering, flew to Istanbul to attend the signing ceremony. The ceremony, held at Hitit's headquarters, formalized the collaboration between the two companies. After a swift system transition process, Drukair will operate with Hitit technology in early 2025.
In its digital transformation journey, Hitit has become the preferred partner for airlines from various continents. With its modern, flexible infrastructure and reservation systems, Hitit aims to help Drukair reach a higher number of passengers. Hitit's position as one of the leading companies providing single-source service in global airline and travel technology has also made it the preferred choice for Drukair's operational, accounting processes, and even cargo solutions. This partnership marks another milestone in Hitit's mission to revolutionize intercontinental aviation technology.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Hitit's CEO, Nevra Onursal Karaağaç, expressed pride in serving Bhutan's historically rich national airline. She stated, “As we connect the world through technology, we also establish strong ties through technology trade between countries. We are delighted to welcome Drukair to our portfolio of national airlines today. With Hitit’s technology, we will provide Drukair with seamless, reliable, and high-tech services. I would like to thank them for choosing us and hope our partnership endures for many years.”
Drukair CEO Tandi Wangchuk, speaking at the ceremony, remarked on their partnership with Hitit: “In this challenging aviation environment, where we must compete with global airlines, merely providing air transport services will not suffice for our passengers' satisfaction. Through this partnership with Hitit, we aim to equip Drukair’s services with all the additional offerings provided by global airlines. With Hitit, opportunities await us, such as check-in, interline arrangements for both passengers and cargo, seamless service provision, offering fare options, and eventually joining global airline alliances.”
