CVC Explores Potential Acquisition of Vivendi's Stake in Telecom Italia, Reports Bloomberg

According to a report on Monday, CVC Capital Partners Plc is considering acquiring Vivendi SE's stake in Telecom Italia SpA, which could lead to a potential purchase of Italy's largest telecom operator.

Citing sources close to the matter, the report states that the private equity firm is engaged in early-stage discussions to buy Vivendi's stake, which accounts for 24% of the Italian company's common shares and is valued at approximately €950 million ($996 million). If CVC successfully purchases the stake, it would become the largest shareholder of Telecom Italia.

The report also mentioned that the capital firm could be considering a full acquisition and may think about restructuring the company, which includes core wireless operations in Italy, the corporate services division, and the publicly traded Brazilian subsidiary valued at around $6.1 billion.

Other potential buyers may also show interest in Vivendi's stake in Telecom Italia.
