Gedik Investment Hosts Istanbul Investor Seminar to Discuss 2025 Investment Strategies
Foreks - Gedik Yatırım (IS: GEDIK) held its year-end Investor Seminar, where expectations for 2025 and investment strategies were discussed in depth, with expert speakers and high participation at Borsa İstanbul. Gedik Yatırım, one of Turkey's leading capital market institutions, continues to conduct Investor Seminars aimed at enhancing financial literacy and raising awareness among investors since 2022. The first Istanbul seminar of this year took place in May, and the final stop of seminars held for the second time in Istanbul and in various cities took place on Saturday, December 14, with wide participation from current and potential investors. The opening speech of the seminar, which focused on expectations for 2025 and investment strategies in the stock market and other markets, was delivered by Gedik Yatırım General Manager Ersan Akpınar, while Deputy General Managers Gülten Esen and Ergün Koşucu also engaged with participants.
Akpınar noted, “We observed a significant rise in Borsa Istanbul with the signal that interest rate cuts will start.” In his speech, Gedik Yatırım General Manager Ersan Akpınar stated, “In 2024, the Central Bank’s maintenance of a tight monetary stance by keeping the policy interest rate at around 50%, has made deposits and money market funds significant competitors to the stock market. Accordingly, although Borsa Istanbul has experienced volatility throughout the year, it has performed below deposit returns overall. The disinflation process that began in June 2024 is expected to continue into 2025. The Central Bank also signaled that interest rate cuts will soon commence within this expectation. With this signal, we are closely monitoring the significant rise in Borsa Istanbul in a short period. We believe we are at the beginning of a more supportive period for Borsa Istanbul within the interest rate reduction cycle expected to continue throughout 2025.”
Akpınar further emphasized, “We are seeing an increase in investor interest in capital markets recently. This presents new opportunities for both investors and companies. However, it is crucial for decisions in this regard to be made more consciously. Through our investor seminars, we have brought together over 5,000 investors across many provinces in Turkey. Experts shared investment strategies During the first session of the event, moderated by Eda Karadağ, Deputy Director of Investment Advisory at Gedik Yatırım, Özlem Derici Şengül, Founding Partner of Spinn Consulting, and Serkan Gönençler, Chief Economist at Gedik Yatırım, presented the 2025 economic outlook and expectations for the Turkish economy. In the second session, Research Director Ali Kerim Akkoyunlu shared his expectations regarding stocks and the stock market. In the session titled “Secrets to Success in Technical Analysis,” Investment Advisory Manager Mesut Kurt and Matriks Academy Director Kıvanç Özbilgiç shared their evaluations.
