How Did Borsa Istanbul Start the Week? Which Stocks Shone at the Opening?

The BIST 100 index started the week with an increase of 0.21%, reaching 10,146.61 points.

Starting the week slightly positive, the index partially retreated during the initial trades and moved towards the 10,100 points barrier. The BIST 100 closed the previous week at 10,125.46 points after a 0.44% rise in the trades of the week prior. Although the index started strong last week, ongoing profit sales in the following days hindered the upward trend.

Borsa Istanbul, beginning the new week by pricing in minimum wage developments and the geopolitical situation, saw sectors such as electricity, tourism, and food start the day on a positive note. Conversely, the trade, holding, and sports indices started the day in the negative. The banking index, which had decreased by 2.75% last week and put pressure on the stock market, began the new week with a partial rise.

Overall in Borsa Istanbul, ONCSM, DCTTR, and JANTS were the top gaining stocks at the opening. Meanwhile, DOBUR, TBORG, and MANAS stocks experienced the most significant declines.

In the domestic foreign exchange market, the dollar/TL is trading slightly below 35 TL, with a 0.1% increase. Euro/TL is trading at 36.77 with a 0.25% increase. Gram gold is starting the week with a 0.2% rise, trading at 2,982 TL.
