Number of Drilling Rigs in the U.S. Remains Unchanged

Forex - The number of active oil and natural gas drilling rigs in the United States remained unchanged in the past week. According to a report shared via email by Baker Hughes, the total number of oil and natural gas drilling rigs, which was 589 the previous week, remained the same in the week ending December 13. The number of rigs is down by 34 compared to the same period last year. The number of oil drilling rigs remained unchanged at 482, while the number of natural gas drilling rigs increased by 1 to reach 103. The number of rigs engaged in dual-product operations decreased by 1 to 4. Among the drilling rigs, 573 are located onshore, 14 in offshore regions, and 2 in inland waters.

-Canada and the Gulf of Mexico- In the same week, the number of drilling rigs in Canada decreased by 3 to 191. The number of oil rigs in the country fell by 4 to 120, while the number of natural gas rigs increased by 1 to 71. In Mexico, the number of drilling rigs decreased by 1 to reach 12, and across North America, the total number of rigs decreased by 3 to 780.
