TESK/Palandöken: Using Local Products Builds a Stronger Economy
Forex - Bendevi Palandöken, the President of the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), stated that the foundations of a strong economy will be laid through domestic production and consumption. "A strong economy is only possible with a society that consumes what it produces. In this period when we are fighting high inflation as a nation, using domestic products is not just an individual choice, but a national responsibility. For a stronger Turkey, we all need to embrace this awareness and make it a part of our lives. Our money should stay within the country, not go abroad," he said.

"USING DOMESTIC PRODUCTS BUILDS A STRONGER ECONOMY" Making a statement for the Week of Savings, Investment, and Turkish Goods, Bendevi Palandöken emphasized, "The economic fluctuations and global crises experienced worldwide in recent years have once again highlighted the importance of domestic production. The Domestic Goods Week is an opportunity to raise this awareness. Being able to use domestic products in every field from defense industry to food on our tables, from cleaning products to the textile sector is the most crucial step we can take for the economy of our country. Supporting domestic production ensures that our national resources are used effectively and helps to build a stronger economy. Focusing on local products instead of foreign currency payments motivates producers and workers while also supporting the fight against inflation. Increased demand for domestic products expands production capacities, which leads to a rise in employment. This healthy cycle enables sustainable growth throughout the economy."

"WE MUST PREVENT THE WASTE OF OUR NATURAL RESOURCES" Palandöken also expressed the need to raise awareness about frugality alongside domestic production, stating, "To popularize the use of domestic goods, this habit should be instilled from a young age, starting in schools. Raising awareness among our children about the value of domestic production, especially in family settings, will ensure this continuity in the future. Habits such as being thrifty, saving money, and avoiding waste should be developed from a young age. Public service announcements should be created to encourage the use of domestic products. Waste of energy and natural resources like electricity and water must be prevented by avoiding excessive shopping. During the economic crisis experienced worldwide, being frugal, buying only what is necessary, saving money, and investing not only benefits our own pockets but also holds great importance for our national economy," he stated.
