China's Grain Production Hits Record High in 2024

Foreks - The National Bureau of Statistics of China reported that the country's total grain production is set to break records in 2024, exceeding 700 million metric tons. According to the announcement, China's annual production has reached 706.5 million tons following the harvests of staple rice, wheat, and corn. Data from the bureau indicates that this figure is 1.6% higher than the 695.41 million tons harvested in 2023. According to the data, rice production is expected to increase by 0.5% year-on-year to 207.5 million tons in 2024, while wheat production is projected to rise by 2.6% to 140.1 million tons. Corn is set to break records with a 2.1% increase from the previous year, reaching 294.92 million tons. Soybean production, however, has decreased by 0.9% to 20.65 million tons.
