The Environmental Impact Assessment Process for BOTAŞ's Mut Mersin Natural Gas Pipeline Project Has Begun
The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process has begun for the Mut Mersin Natural Gas Pipeline project planned by BOTAŞ. The information provided on the website of the General Directorate of Environmental Impact Assessment, Permission and Supervision includes the following details:
"The MUT MERSIN NATURAL GAS PIPELINE project, planned to be carried out by BOTAŞ PIPELINE TRANSPORTATION INC. in the MERSIN province AKDENIZ, YENISEHIRTOROSLAR, MEZITLI, ERDEMLI, MUT, SILIFKE districts covering an area of 316 km2, has had its EIA application file submitted to our Ministry, which has been reviewed in accordance with Article 8 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulation. It was determined that the application was prepared in accordance with the General Format of the EIA, and the EIA process for the project has been initiated. Until the Environmental Impact Assessment process is completed, all information related to the process and any opinions, questions, and suggestions regarding the project can be sent to the MERSIN Governorate (Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change) or to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change."
