Environmental Impact Report for Ford Automotive's Port Project Open for Review
Foreks - The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report for the port project planned to be carried out by Ford (IS:FROTO) Automotive has been opened for public review.
In a statement regarding the matter on the website of the General Directorate of Environmental Impact Assessment Permit and Supervision, the following information was provided:
"The EIA Application File prepared for the PORT project (DOCK AND BACKFIELD REVISION, ADDITIONAL DOLPHINS) to be carried out by KOCAELİ FORD AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY INC. has been deemed sufficient by the Review and Evaluation Commission and has been accepted as final. The Environmental Impact Assessment Report concluded by the Commission will be opened to the public for comments and suggestions at the Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and at the Ministry for ten (10) days. These opinions will also be considered in the decision-making process regarding the project by the Ministry. The Ministry may request the completion of any necessary deficiencies in the report, additional studies to be conducted, or a reconvening of the Review and Evaluation Commission based on the feedback received from the public. Following the necessary studies, the Ministry will request that the final Environmental Impact Assessment Report be duplicated as many as the number of Commission members within three (3) working days. The duplicated Final EIA Report will be submitted to the Ministry within five (5) days." Consequently, the Environmental Impact Assessment Report that has been accepted will be opened to the public for ten (10) days, and during this period, comments and suggestions can be submitted to the KOCAELİ Provincial Directorates of Environment and Urbanization or to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.
