Astor Energy Plans to Open Its First Factories Abroad in Spain and the USA

According to news, Turkish transformer manufacturer Astor Transformatör Enerji plans to open its first overseas factories in Spain and the United States to help address the global shortage of devices that are key to energy transformation.

The $40 billion transformer market is a critical bottleneck in efforts to modernize power grids and meet the rising demand from electric vehicles and data centers. Wait times, which were less than a year just a few years ago, can now extend up to four years in some cases.

In an interview, CFO Olcay Doğan stated that Astor will initially start small-scale production of distribution transformers, which adjust the voltage between electricity distribution and consumption, at a factory in Spain in 2025.
