Electronics Industry Comes Together at TESİD Summit

Forex - The TESİD Summit, organized by the Turkish Electronics Industrialists Association (TESİD) on December 11, aimed to bring together leading figures in the electronics industry to discuss the latest developments, goal-oriented strategies, and opportunities for collaboration. The 22nd TESİD Innovation and Creativity Awards were also presented during the summit.

At the summit held at the Cevher Hotel in Istanbul, TESİD gathered key players to shape the future of the sector. Discussions during the panels titled "Technological Horizons and Goal-Oriented Strategy" and "The Fusion of Technology and Art" focused on the impacts of technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and virtual reality on the industry, as well as steps to enhance Turkey's competitiveness in this field.

Yaman Tunaoğlu, the Chairman of the TESİD Board, emphasized that the electronics sector is undergoing a significant transformation and stated that while Turkey has established itself as an important player in manufacturing, there is a need for increased focus on R&D investments, new technologies, and collaborations for further growth and efficiency.

In the "Technological Horizons and Goal-Oriented Strategy" panel, Dr. Aybike Molbay, General Manager of GE Aerospace Turkey, and Professor Oğuz Babüroğlu from Sabancı University evaluated the effects of future technologies, such as artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, and quantum computers, on the sector and discussed the necessary steps for enhancing Turkey’s competitive edge in this realm.

The "Fusion of Technology and Art" panel, moderated by TESİD Board Member Prof. Dr. Sıddık Yarman, featured insights from Prof. Dr. Tayfun Akgül from ITU and entrepreneur-artist Edi Cavit Yakar, who shared inspiring views on how art is inspired by technology and how technology transforms art.

Winners of the 22nd TESİD Innovation and Creativity Awards Announced

During the award ceremony held as part of the summit, the winners of the 22nd TESİD Innovation and Creativity Awards, aimed at promoting innovation and creativity in the electronics industry, were announced. A total of 17 successful projects in categories including Large Company, SME, Startup, and Doctoral Thesis were recognized.

Award recipients included: SAVRONİK, EHSİM EMPA, NETAŞ, ARVENTO, ELEKTRA, NETELSAN, MULTİTEK, ONUR, BARFAS, INHEND, ASİS, KAREL (IS:KAREL), BİYOMOD, DEICO, HAVELSAN, and the most successful doctoral thesis by Dr. Umut Fırat.

These awards once again showcased Turkey's innovation potential in the electronics sector. Yaman Tunaoğlu noted that increased efficiency and reduced costs can be achieved through the use of digital transformation and artificial intelligence technologies, and that the projects applying for the TESİD Awards clustered around these goals.

Prof. Sıddık Yarman, Chairman of the TESİD Award Executive Board, emphasized the importance of supporting R&D efforts in the sector, strengthening collaboration between the private sector and academia, and enhancing the visibility of individuals and institutions taking bold steps in this field.

The TESİD Summit has become an important meeting point for Turkey's electronics sector. Topics addressed and awards presented during the summit provide valuable insights for the future of the industry. Participants exchanged knowledge not only on technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and virtual reality but also on issues like sustainability and social responsibility.
