Akbank Elevates MSCI Sustainability Rating to AA, Achieving Leadership Status

Akbank (IS:AKBNK) has raised its rating to AA in the MSCI ratings, which assess companies' resilience to long-term environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks.
In a statement regarding the matter, Akbank's General Manager Kaan Gür said, “We are delighted to join global leaders by elevating our MSCI sustainability rating to AA. We believe this achievement reaffirms our leadership in sustainability at both local and global levels. MSCI ESG ratings assess organizations' competency in managing environmental, social, and governance risks and opportunities. Using a rules-based methodology, it rates organizations globally based on their level of exposure to ESG risks and how they manage those risks compared to other institutions in their sector.
