"Cementas Receives Positive Environmental Impact Assessment for Limestone Quarry Project"
Foreks - Çimentaş has received a "Positive EIA" decision regarding its limestone quarry project.
In a statement released on the website of the General Directorate of Environmental Impact Assessment, Permit, and Audit, the following information was provided: "The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report submitted to our Ministry regarding the limestone quarry project with License Number 200904073 (ER:2342074), which is planned to be carried out by Çimentaş İzmir Cement Factory Turkish A.Ş., located within the boundaries of Koruköy Village and Kapaklı Village in the center district of Kırklareli, has been examined and evaluated by the EIA Review and Evaluation Commission. In accordance with Article 14 of the EIA Regulation, considering the works of the Commission and public opinions, our Ministry has given a 'Positive Environmental Impact Assessment' decision; the Kırklareli Governorship (Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change) needs to announce the decision to the public. Additionally, compliance with the provisions of the relevant regulations that come into force under the Environmental Law No. 2872, as well as obtaining the necessary permits from related institutions/organizations in accordance with the applicable legislation, is required."
