Goldman Sachs Expects BOJ to Maintain Interest Rate at 0.25% in December Meeting

Goldman Sachs expects the Bank of Japan to keep its interest rate at 0.25% during the December meeting. They stated, "We believe that the Bank of Japan has not yet reached a situation where it can have sufficient confidence in the outlook." Under these conditions, they anticipate the BoJ will maintain the policy rate at 0%. Goldman Sachs noted that the base scenario indicates an interest rate hike in January 2025, while emphasizing that the likelihood of this being the final rate hike in the current cycle is low.
