TUSIAD/Turan: We Must Revitalize the EU-Turkey Integration Process

Today, a meeting was held with the participation of TÜSİAD Chairman Orhan Turan and Board Members, along with Ambassador Thomas Hans Ossowski, Head of the EU Delegation, and Ambassadors of EU Member States.

The meeting focused on concrete steps that could be taken to revitalize and deepen the EU-Turkey integration process in the rapidly changing geopolitical and economic environment.

In his opening remarks, TÜSİAD Chairman Orhan Turan stated: “We must sincerely and fairly revive the EU-Turkey integration process. We see this not just as a pragmatic choice, but as an essential element of a democratic, competitive, and sustainable European vision. Revitalizing the integration process will enable the EU and Turkey to address global challenges more effectively. The process of updating the EU-Turkey Customs Union to include green and digital policies should be initiated as soon as possible. This call is also a common message from the European business community under the umbrella of BusinessEurope.”
