Positive EIA Decision Granted for OYAK Cement’s Land Expansion Project
A "Positive Environmental Impact Assessment" decision has been made for the GES Land Increase project planned by OYAK Cement.
The General Directorate of Environmental Impact Assessment, Permission and Inspection provided the following information on its website:
"The project planned by OYAK CEMENT FACTORIES INC. within the boundaries of the DİBECİK NEIGHBORHOOD (Parcel 132, 26-27-28-29-30-31-33-34-35) in the BEYPAZARI district of ANKARA includes a SOLAR POWER PLANT LAND INCREASE (TOTAL INSTALLED CAPACITY: 97.8 MWe / 115.5 MWp / 115.5 MWm, TOTAL AREA: from 115.65 HECTARES to 184.34 HECTARES). The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report submitted to our Ministry has been reviewed and evaluated by the EIA Report Review and Assessment Commission. In accordance with Article 14 of the EIA Regulation, a 'Positive Environmental Impact Assessment' Decision has been made by our Ministry, taking into account the Commission's findings and public opinions. Additionally, the Ankara Governorship (Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change) is required to announce this decision to the public. Furthermore, compliance with the provisions of the Final EIA Report and its annexes, as well as the regulations enacted based on the Environment Law No. 2872, must be ensured, and necessary permits must be obtained from the relevant institutions/organizations in accordance with the applicable legislation."
