Halkbank Takes a Bold Step in the Digital Banking Sector

Halkbank (HALKB) has decided to establish a new digital bank aimed at expanding its customer potential and contributing to Turkey's digitalization goals. The upcoming bank will operate under the name "Halk Katılım Bankası Anonim Şirketi" and will particularly serve SMEs and financial consumers. This initiative will be undertaken in accordance with the Regulation on the Principles of Operation of Digital Banks and Service Model Banking.

With the resolution of the Board of Directors, the necessary applications for the establishment of the digital bank and the process for obtaining legal permits have been initiated. This new venture, planned as a 100% subsidiary of the bank, aims to enhance Turkey's financial ecosystem.

In a strategic move towards renewable energy, Halkbank has also decided to establish a new energy production company to increase its investments in renewable energy and contribute to environmental sustainability. This new company aims to meet the bank's energy needs by utilizing renewable energy sources and reducing energy costs. This decision aligns with the carbon emission reduction goals outlined in Turkey's Medium-Term Program.

The Board of Directors has decided to initiate the necessary processes for the establishment of this company, which will operate as a 100% subsidiary. Both new initiatives are in line with Halkbank's strategy to enhance its impact in the areas of digitalization and sustainable energy production.
