Innergex Shares Surge with Selection for BC Wind Project

Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. shares experienced a significant increase, rising as much as 4.6%, marking the largest daily gain the company has seen in over two weeks. This rise in share value occurred after the company announced a significant achievement in British Columbia (BC) following the market's close on Monday. Innergex disclosed that three wind projects developed in partnership with Indigenous groups were selected in BC Hydro's recent call for new renewable energy production sources. The projects, named K2, Nithi Mountain, and Stewart Creek, have a combined capacity of 560 megawatts. These renewable energy initiatives are planned to commence commercial operations between 2030 and 2031. This development is seen as a positive step for the company in terms of growth and presence in the renewable energy sector.
