Japan Sees a 3.0% Increase in Machinery Parts Orders
In October, Japan experienced an annual increase in machinery orders, which continued in November. According to the Japan Machine Tool Builders' Association (JMTBA), orders in November showed a 3.0% increase compared to the same month last year. The increase in October was recorded at 9.3%.
On a monthly basis, however, orders fell by 2.6%, amounting to 119.3 billion yen. Domestic orders rose by 2.6% month-on-month and 5.0% year-on-year, reaching 34.3 billion yen. In contrast, foreign orders decreased by 4.6% month-on-month but increased by 2.2% year-on-year, totaling 85.01 billion yen.
For the first 11 months of the year, total orders decreased by 1.3%, reaching 1.34 trillion yen.
