Erdemoğlu: Investment Completed at PTA Facility, Production Will Start After Technical Issues Are Resolved

Forex - Ibrahim Erdemoğlu, Chairman of Erdemoğlu Holding, stated that the investment in the PTA facility has been completed and production will begin once technical deficiencies are addressed.

In remarks to Vahap Munyar from the economy sector, Erdemoğlu said, "We built the PTA facility for 1.7 billion dollars and the POY facility for 800 million dollars. The POY facility is operational. The investment in the PTA facility is complete, and production will start once the technical deficiencies are resolved."

Erdemoğlu highlighted that the investments made at Sasa's site in Adana since 2015 have reached 4 billion dollars. He stated, "If we had continued production with the old machines at Sasa, we would have gone bankrupt ten times by now. In fact, we have halted production with the last remaining old machines. Therefore, despite the new investment, we will operate at 85% capacity."

Erdemoğlu added, "Currently, our total production, which is 1.1 million tons, will rise to 1.9 million tons starting from June 2025. Excluding India and China, we will become the largest polyester producer in the world."
