The BIST 100 index began the week with strong buying activity, and this positive trend continued throughout the day. The index is currently trading around the 10,235 point level with a 1.5% increase in the last hour. The index excluding BIST 100 is showing a similar momentum, and there is a generally positive atmosphere in the stock market.
In Borsa Istanbul, today's developments in Syria are being positively reflected in prices. This time, geopolitical developments are being viewed favorably by the market, particularly benefiting the cement and metal sectors. Approaching the close, the stone and soil index comprising cement companies rose by 8%, and the metal index increased by 5%. Following these sectors, construction comes next. As the close approaches, sports, insurance, and communication sectors are ranked as the segments showing negative performance.

In the domestic foreign exchange market, the dollar/TL has risen by 0.23% to 36.81, while euro/TL is at 36.86 with a similar increase. The gram gold approached 2,990 TL with an over 1.5% gain by the evening hours.
In international markets, Asian markets closed with a mixed outlook. European markets started the week positively overall. The U.S. stock markets appeared indecisive at the opening, with Dow Jones slightly positive in the first hour, while Nasdaq and S&P 500 showed downward momentum.
