Söke Becomes the 191st Largest Company in Anatolia
Foreks - Söke has been ranked as the 191st largest company in Anatolia according to the "Anatolia's Largest 500 Companies" research conducted annually by Ekonomist magazine. Last year, Söke was positioned 233rd on the list, rising by 42 places this year while also becoming the 3rd largest company in Aydın Province and the 51st largest company in the food sector.
The study, which gauges the pulse of production in Turkey outside of the top three cities recognized by Ekonomist magazine, has been announced for the 21st time. According to the survey, Söke, known as Turkey's most recognized flour brand and a giant in the retail sector, has become the 191st largest company in Anatolia.
Having been ranked 233rd last year and demonstrating a successful year in 2023 by rising 42 places, Söke is also the 3rd largest company in Aydın Province and ranked 51st in the food industry that includes 127 companies. With a broad product portfolio in both retail and professional product categories, Söke's net sales reached 4 billion 219 million TL in 2023, nearly doubling compared to 2022. Söke has been producing since 1963 and employs 367 people. It has two production facilities located in the Söke district of Aydın and in Ankara. The production facility in Aydın's Söke district includes a total of three mills, 51,674 square meters of production area, and an annual wheat processing capacity of 192,000 tons. In 2024, improvements on the production lines at the Ankara factory, along with technological investments and revisions, have resulted in an increase in the wheat processing capacity.
With these improvements, Söke's total wheat processing capacity has reached 444,500 tons per year, professional product flour packaging capacity has reached 608,000 tons per year, and packaged flour packaging capacity has reached 239,000 tons per year. In 2023, Söke has commenced investment activities in Samsun/Tekkeköy, where it has an 4,100 square meter enclosed area on a total area of 6,995 square meters for a bakery products production facility, which started production and completed its first shipment in May 2024.
