DMM: "Claim That Syrians Are Returning with Tax-Exempt Vehicles Without Paying VAT and Motor Vehicle Tax Is False"

The Forex - Disinformation Combat Center reported that the claim circulating on some social media accounts stating "Syrians are returning with vehicles they received tax-free without paying ÖTV or MTV" is not true. The statement emphasized, "Syrians are obligated to pay the official fees such as ÖTV, MTV, inspection fees, etc., for the motor vehicles they own, just like Turkish citizens. Syrian refugees under temporary protection in Turkey do not have any tax exemptions or privileges."
